Role Overview
We are currently recruiting an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support works on a major transmission project at Inch Cape Onshore. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high‑profile site within a live substation environment, contributing to critical UK grid infrastructure through to mid‑2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and carrying out commissioning of primary and secondary plant at varying voltages.
- Functional testing of protection and control schemes.
- Reviewing, completing and signing off commissioning documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with National Grid standards and site safety rules.
- Coordinating with SAPs, Project Engineers and client representatives.
- Supporting energisation and fault‑finding activities.
- Working safely within a live transmission environment.
Essential Requirements
- Extensive experience commissioning up to level.
- Strong background within UK transmission projects.
- Solid understanding of UK T&D commissioning procedures.
- Proven experience working in live substations.
Desirable
- Previous experience on National Grid or SSEN transmission sites.
- Ability to lead commissioning activities independently.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
