Role Overview

We are currently looking for an experienced Civil Chargehand to join works on a live National Grid 400kV substation project at Pembroke. This is a key supervisory role requiring strong experience working within high‑voltage environments and strict adherence to National Grid safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Competent Person (NSI 6 & 8 Full)
  • HSG47 (CAT 1 & CAT 2)
  • Experience working on live HV substations
  • Strong understanding of substation access control & safety compliance
  • Manual Handling
  • Full PPE (required prior to site access)

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing safe access and egress within a live HV substation environment
  • Overseeing delivery vehicles and plant movement on site
  • Ensuring compliance with National Grid NSI Safety Rules
  • Supervising and supporting groundworks activities in line with project scope
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and site discipline
