We're supporting a major residential developer seeking an Engineer to join their Technical team in Norwich. You'll be joining a close-knit team of 4-5 people, delivering infrastructure and groundworks design across a wide range of residential developments with a strong, long-term pipeline of work. This role suits someone from a consulting engineering background or someone currently working for a residential developer who now wants to step into a larger developer environment, gain exposure to more complex projects and embrace a new challenge with clear progression opportunities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Overseeing the design and detailing of infrastructure and groundworks packages
  • Managing external engineering consultants for foundations, roads, drainage, sewers and Section 38, 104 and 278 works
  • Procuring service records and enquiries, including managing payments for new service infrastructure
  • Securing adoption agreements (S38, S104, S278) and closing out associated bonds
  • Coordinating with structural specialists on superstructure design components
  • Conducting continuous value engineering and peer review of consultant designs
  • Liaising with Technical, Planning and Building Control teams to support the discharge of conditions

What you'll need:

  • HNC/HND or higher in an Engineering related discipline. We are open to seeing candidates from other backgrounds/qualifications too
  • Minimum 5 years' post qualification experience
  • Background in civil or structural engineering (consulting or developer)
  • Confident dealing with highways authorities, utilities and water companies
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
  • Experience with Autodesk tools; PDS or MicroDrainage experience helpful but not essential
