This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with a good level of qualification, coupled with at least 1-3 years of relevant setting out experience from the civil engineering, construction, infrastructure or groundworks sectors. Attendance on site is required, so a full UK driving licence, all required certifications (CSCS etc) and the willingness to travel is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations on site
  • Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, lines, and other characteristics of terrain to produce accurate volumetric information
  • Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records and documents related to setting out
  • Take measurements and accumulate data to determine levels, positions and elevations
  • Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in areas using instruments such as Leica, LSS, Total Station, theodolites, transits, levels and GPS systems
  • Liaise and coordinate with the engineering and project teams, and any other stakeholders
  • Establish fixed points using appropriate equipment and instruments
  • Plan and conduct setting out designed to establish baselines, elevations and other measurements
  • Analyse data and specifications to prepare necessary reports which enable accurate setting out, accurate quantities of materials and plant required, and timely site mobilisation

Qualifications

  • Good level of qualification and at least 1-3 years of relevant setting out experience from civil engineering, construction, infrastructure or groundworks sectors
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Required certifications (CSCS, etc)
  • Willingness to travel
