Working closely with experienced engineers, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of projects and play an active role in the delivery of structural designs, coordination with project teams, and the successful progression of projects through all design stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce structural designs and calculations for a range of building projects.
- Prepare structural reports, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Assist in delivering projects from concept design through detailed design and construction stages.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other consultants as part of the design team.
- Attend site visits, inspections, and project meetings as required.
- Support senior engineers in developing practical and buildable structural solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with UK Building Regulations and relevant Eurocodes.
- Contribute to project delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.
Experience Required
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Approximately 4-6 years' experience working within a UK structural engineering consultancy.
- Actively working towards Chartership with either the Institution of Structural Engineers or the Institution of Civil Engineers.
- Experience designing structures using common materials such as steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber.
- Experienced with structural design software.
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and Eurocodes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage workload effectively across multiple projects.
