Our client, a leading Design House, is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will develop high‑quality, safe, and efficient engineering designs across a range of infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects within the regulated water sector, covering both clean water and wastewater systems. You will also support project delivery, mentor junior team members, and ensure all work complies with relevant safety, quality, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
- Identify efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits and communicate these to client and project team.
- Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
- Prepare design risk assessments, reports and specifications.
- Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards.
- Ensure project changes for the design package are fully implemented and recorded.
- Undertake work using formal processes and procedures.
- Estimate hours required for design packages.
- Attend and present designs at HAZOP, ALM, KM meetings and similar.
Requirements
- 10 years’ relevant design experience in the regulated water industry.
- Experience with hydraulic calculations and profiles, clean water and wastewater systems, infrastructure and non‑infrastructure design, and both outline and detailed design stages.
- Degree, HND, or strong technical experience (Technician level considered).
- Good level IT (skill).
- Registered with a professional body and working towards chartership or already chartered.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
