Civil / Structural Engineer Remote with occasional visits to the office. Locations: Manchester, London, Newcastle, Glasgow. Contract role – 6‑month rolling agreement inside IR35, rate £65 per hour.
A Civil / Structural Engineer is required to join a design consultancy on a 6‑month rolling contract. The role is remote, but you must be willing to occasionally travel to one of the listed cities depending on your location. This role will work in the Energy Transition industry on low‑carbon projects from early‑stage development through construction, operation and eventual decommissioning.
Responsibilities
- Develop Civil & Structural solutions across Feasibility, Concept, FEED, Value Engineering and Detailed Design stages.
- Produce structural 3D models, design reports, GA drawings, pipe support designs, foundation envelopes and RC detailing.
- Support the development of plant layouts and integrated 3D plant models.
- Work with equipment vendors to refine equipment package designs and participate in technical evaluations.
- Contribute to tender submittals for Civil & Structural work, as well as multidisciplinary tenders.
- Provide opportunities for site involvement during development, construction and commissioning phases.
Requirements
- A relevant engineering degree.
- Working towards chartership.
- Experienced in Civil / Structural detailed design.
- Strong working knowledge of national and international codes and standards used in the power and energy sectors.
- Experience with structural design software such as Robot Professional or STAAD Pro, and CAD tools such as Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience collaborating with clients and contractors with diverse technical and commercial objectives.
