About the Role
We're looking for a HV Design Engineer to support the design and adoption of LV and HV electricity networks, with a particular focus on distributed generation and grid connections. You'll work closely with customers, developers, DNOs and internal teams to deliver safe, compliant and efficient network solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and assess LV/HV electricity networks.
- Carry out network impact studies including voltage rise, ELI, thermal loading and fault level assessments.
- Support generation and grid connection applications.
- Liaise with DNOs, ICPs, developers and customers.
- Ensure compliance with G99, G100 and industry standards.
- Manage technical submissions and connection approvals.
- Support project delivery and maintain accurate project records.
Requirements
Essential:
- Experience in electricity network design (LV/HV).
- Knowledge of distributed generation and grid connections.
- Experience using WinDebut, IPSA, VisNet or similar software.
- Understanding of G99/G100 requirements.
- Ability to perform network studies and technical assessments.
- Good CAD and Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience with solar PV, wind, CHP or other renewable technologies.
- Background within a DNO, IDNO, ICP or utility environment.
- Exposure to EHV networks.
