URGENT NEED!! One of our top clients has the need for an Environmental Manager to support on Thames Water related works they have recently secured including Pumping Stations, Water Treatment Works and Mains Replacements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) for civil engineering and infrastructure projects
  • Ensure compliance with UK environmental legislation and guidance from the Environment Agency and local authorities
  • Manage environmental aspects of construction activities including noise, air quality, water management, and waste
  • Lead compliance with environmental management systems aligned to ISO 14001
  • Conduct site inspections, environmental audits, and risk assessments
  • Oversee pollution prevention measures (e.g. spill control, sediment management, drainage protection)
  • Coordinate ecological and environmental surveys (e.g. protected species, habitat assessments)
  • Liaise with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and stakeholders on environmental matters
  • Manage environmental incidents and implement corrective actions
  • Support delivery of sustainability goals, including carbon reduction and resource efficiency
  • Prepare environmental reports and documentation for planning and compliance purposes

Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental Management or related field
  • Professional membership (e.g. IEMA) is desirable
  • Experience in a similar environmental or sustainability role (typically 3-5+ years)
  • Knowledge of environmental management systems and auditing processes
  • Water/Civil Engineering experience
