BMC Recruitment Group is currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join a prestigious client in the engineering consultancy sector, based in Edinburgh.

Responsibilities

  • Manage UK‑based projects in accordance with UK Building Regulations and relevant standards across various sectors, including industrial, residential, retail, commercial, and healthcare
  • Lead and liaise with other design team members to achieve coordinated design solutions that meet client objectives
  • Conduct structural engineering assessments and inspections of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber
  • Perform analysis and design using software packages such as Tekla Structural Designer and Tedds
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of technical outputs, including drawings and reports
  • Prepare high‑quality technical reports, including structural surveys
  • Maintain attention to detail and manage multiple projects of varying sizes
  • Promote the company at external networking and social events

About You

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Chartered or near Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE)
  • Varied experience in all common forms of construction and building types
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and numerical skills
  • Previous experience in a UK consultancy
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Strong desire and ambition to promote the company from within
