We are looking for an Engineer to join our team on major UK construction projects, starting at our Berwick Bank construction project at Innerwick, near Edinburgh. The role is site-based and involves working on projects across the UK, reporting directly to the Project Manager. You’ll be expected to travel with overnight stays depending on site location. We offer excellent lodge allowances for working away from home, along with the opportunity to manage impactful schemes and further your career within a growing business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carry out surveying, setting out, and volume checks in a timely manner and in accordance with specifications.
- Interpolate ground investigation (GI) data, designs, and specifications to produce accurate quantities and earthworks phasing 3D models.
- Manage machine control setup and operation, including 3D modelling and ensuring on-site accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with testing frequencies based on actual earthwork volumes and maintain excellent communication with QA and project management teams.
- Monitor earthworks progress, accurately reporting weekly volumes to senior management.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure construction meets client requirements.
- Provide accurate information to the Works Management to ensure timely project execution.
- Prepare and submit weekly progress reports for review, contributing to financial CVRs and completion forecasts.
- Assist in ensuring adequate plant, labour, subcontractor, and material resources are available to meet project timescales.
- Support the procurement process, ensuring timely payment of suppliers and subcontractors, and monitor their performance, including financial aspects.
- Identify potential problem areas and their financial impact, ensuring provisions are made within forecasts.
- Assist in resolving contractual issues with clients and suppliers while maintaining good relationships.
