The Commissioning Engineer SCADA is responsible for testing, commissioning, and integrating SCADA systems for HV substations, ensuring safe, reliable monitoring, control, data acquisition, remote operation, and cybersecurity compliance in accordance with project and client requirements.

  • Perform site-based testing and commissioning of SCADA systems for HV substations
  • Configure, test, and validate communication protocols including IEC 60870-5-104 and OPC UA / A&C
  • Verify correct operation of remote controls, indications, alarms, interlocks, and event logging
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and project specifications
  • Support LAN/WAN, switches, routers, and firewalls in coordination with network teams
  • Integrate SCADA with third-party systems (Substations, EMS, DMS, metering systems)
  • Support commissioning of Primary and Secondary equipment (advantage)
  • Execute all activities in line with Client and Company Safety Rules, EHS procedures, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments
  • Maintain safe systems of work near live or adjacent HV plant
  • Stop work and escalate unsafe conditions, non-compliances, or protection anomalies
  • Prepare and maintain test reports, commissioning records, and as-built documentation
  • Ensure compliance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Support closure of commissioning defects and punch-list items
  • Work closely with Lead Commissioning Engineer, Site Manager, and Client commissioning teams

Authorizations & Certifications:

  • CAT-1 / CAT-3 (SSEN)
  • NGP / NGCP (National Grid)
  • CCNSG or equivalent safety certification
