I'm working with a growing consultancy looking to appoint a Civil Engineer into their Central London team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with consultancy experience who wants broader project exposure, closer mentorship, and the chance to develop quickly within a smaller, highly collaborative environment. The Civil Engineering team is intentionally lean, giving you direct exposure to senior engineers and decision-makers rather than being buried in layers of management. You'll gain involvement across the full project lifecycle, take on real responsibility early, and continue developing both technically and professionally. The role would suit someone with experience in drainage and infrastructure design who is looking to strengthen their technical capability while progressing within a supportive consultancy environment.
Role
You will support the delivery of civil engineering projects from feasibility through to detailed design and construction stages across a varied development portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Producing drainage, highways, and infrastructure designs
- Undertaking hydraulic modelling and drainage analysis
- Developing Civil 3D models and coordinated technical drawings
- Preparing technical reports, calculations, and supporting documentation
- Assisting with planning and technical approval submissions
- Liaising with architects, contractors, local authorities, and wider design teams
- Supporting project delivery to programme and budget
- Working closely with senior engineers on project coordination and delivery
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering
- Previous consultancy experience within civil engineering
- Experience in drainage, highways, or infrastructure design
- Experience using Civil 3D
- Hydraulic modelling capability or exposure
- Good understanding of UK design standards and guidance
- Strong communication and report writing skills
- Motivated, collaborative, and keen to continue developing technically
- Experience with Causeway Flow, MicroDrainage, or AutoCAD would be beneficial but is not essential
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This is the type of role where your contribution is genuinely visible. You'll work directly with senior engineers, gain broad project exposure, and develop far quicker than you typically would within a larger team structure.
Business Offers
- Hybrid working with 2-3 days per week in the office
- Salary circa £30,000 - £38,000 depending on experience
- Structured professional development support
- Clear progression opportunities within a growing team
- Supportive and collaborative working environment
- Exposure to a broad range of development projects
