Role Overview
We are currently looking for an experienced Civil Chargehand to join works on a live National Grid 400kV substation project at Pembroke. This is a key supervisory role requiring strong experience working within high‑voltage environments and strict adherence to National Grid safety procedures.
Requirements
- Competent Person (NSI 6 & 8 Full)
- HSG47 (CAT 1 & CAT 2)
- Experience working on live HV substations
- Strong understanding of substation access control & safety compliance
- Manual Handling
- Full PPE (required prior to site access)
Key Responsibilities
- Managing safe access and egress within a live HV substation environment
- Overseeing delivery vehicles and plant movement on site
- Ensuring compliance with National Grid NSI Safety Rules
- Supervising and supporting groundworks activities in line with project scope
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and site discipline
