Our client, a prominent organisation within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Test Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Filton. This part‑time role will last for six months and requires full‑time on‑site commitment, offering a dynamic environment to apply and further develop your skills in Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate at SFIA Level 4, demonstrating autonomy, influence, and managing complexity in test activities.
- Create, plan, prepare, and execute test plans and procedures for PNT equipment in accordance with approved technical specifications.
- Conduct functional, performance, and environmental testing to assess equipment reliability and accuracy.
- Identify, document, and report faults, anomalies, and deviations from expected performance.
- Collaborate with engineering, development, and operational teams to support troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Produce and maintain detailed test records, logs, and reports to support audit and certification processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety, security, and quality standards throughout all testing activities.
- Provide technical input to improve test methodologies and equipment design based on test outcomes.
Job Requirements
- Experience as a Test Engineer, preferably within the Defence & Security sector.
- Knowledge of Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems.
- Strong understanding of creating and executing test plans and procedures.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive testing to assess equipment reliability and accuracy.
- Proficient in documenting and reporting test results, including anomalies.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with engineering teams and support troubleshooting efforts.
- SC clearance is mandatory; must be a sole UK national without dual nationality.

Location and Duration
