CCL Global are currently recruiting for a Civil / Structural Engineer in Bristol. You will be part of a site design team of civil engineers, BIM coordinator and draftsmen working on the most complicated RC structures of Nuclear Island buildings in the Hinkley Point C project (in particular, Reactor buildings, Fuel building, Safeguard buildings). You will work with senior engineer building pilot, chief draftsman and drafting team to answer to construction team requests on the design package released by the design back office in France.
Location: Bristol.

Key Duties will include:
- Modifying reinforced concrete or steel structure designs compliant with the ETCC or other relevant codes (Eurocodes) and project methodology.
- Checking and coordinating the detailing activities with CAD designers or other engineers in preparation of 3D BIM rebar model and/or 2D drawings of reinforced concrete or steel's structure.
- Managing engineering changes in line with company/project procedures and QA process.
- In charge of the assessment and the response to Field Changes Requests, Field Information Requests or Site Non-Conformance coming from the civil works contractors.
- Liaising with other stakeholders of site engineering team or construction team for clarification on the site request.
- Liaising with international back offices for clarification on design package or for closing out of design package issues.
- Technical review and acceptance of contractor deliverables.
- Site Walkdowns and inspection.
Requirements:
From a technical perspective, we are looking for our team to have a mix of design experience, site experience and some of this experience within a highly regulated industry such as the nuclear industry.
Experience of one, or more of the following aspects is desirable:
- Working knowledge of the detailed design phases and how this is transitioned to the construction phase.
- Responsibility for schedule for engineering tasks reporting to the management, scheduling, and commercial requirements.
- Working with contractors on site to deliver the implementation of engineering solutions.
- Previous experience of the nuclear industry sector or other highly heavy industry sectors.
