Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Surveying Manager to lead and develop their UK surveying function. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong roofing professional to take ownership of a growing surveying team while helping shape future surveying processes, standards, and customer experience.

The Role

  • Oversee a team of four Surveyors, ensuring the successful delivery of surveying services across the UK.
  • Maintain technical excellence, drive operational efficiency, support customer relationships, and develop best‑in‑class surveying standards.
  • Regular travel across the UK, with flexibility to support projects nationally when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Surveyors across the UK.
  • Ensure surveys are completed accurately, safely, and within agreed service levels.
  • Support surveyors with technical guidance, development, and performance management.
  • Oversee site surveys including:
    • Roof measurements
    • Drainage assessments
    • Existing falls analysis
    • Tapered roofing set‑out support
  • Act as a senior technical point of contact for customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with design, sales, and technical teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Support customer issue resolution and provide onsite technical investigations where required.
  • Monitor surveying KPIs, reporting, and service performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement across surveying processes, technology, and standards.
  • Assist with technical and practical training for internal teams and external partners.
  • Maintain the highest standards of health & safety and compliance when working at height.

About You

  • Strong technical knowledge within the flat roofing or waterproofing industry alongside proven leadership experience.
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring surveying or technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of flat roofing systems including:
    • Built‑up felt roofing
    • Single‑ply systems
    • Liquid waterproofing
  • Experience carrying out technical roof surveys and assessments.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
  • A commercially aware and solutions‑focused mindset.
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and plans.
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and hands‑on approach.

Requirements

  • Experience within roofing, waterproofing, or a related construction discipline.
  • CSCS Card holder.
  • Comfortable working at height.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • NVQ Level 2 Skilled Worker qualification desirable.
  • DBS check may be required.
