Vickerstock are delighted to be working in partnership with a global, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is continuing to grow its infrastructure design capability across Ireland. As part of this growth, they are seeking to appoint Civil / Infrastructure Design Engineers at Engineer, Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer level to join their established teams in Belfast or Dublin.
Your new role as a Civil Design Engineer:
Depending on your level of experience, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of infrastructure projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support. Projects span a range of sectors including transport, development infrastructure, drainage, utilities, and public realm.
At Engineer and Senior level, you will be involved in hands‑on technical design and project delivery, while at Principal level you will provide technical leadership, mentoring, and strategic input across projects and teams.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Designing civil and infrastructure elements including roads/highways, drainage, earthworks and external works.
- Preparing technical drawings, reports, and design calculations.
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Supporting planning, tender, and construction stages of projects.
- Managing project deliverables, programme and quality standards.
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers (Senior / Principal level).
- Supporting business development and work‑winning activities (Principal level).
To be considered, you should demonstrate:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in infrastructure design within a consultancy environment, appropriate to your level.
- Strong technical knowledge of roads, drainage and general civil infrastructure design.
- Familiarity with relevant design standards and software (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, drainage software).
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within project teams.
- For Senior / Principal roles, experience leading design packages and mentoring engineers.
- Chartered or working towards chartership status would be advantageous, particularly at Senior / Principal level.
