My client, a market leader in their field, has a new opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. They deliver a wide portfolio of projects to a variety of clients.
Role Purpose
We are looking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer responsible for the following:
Role Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients, colleagues and other professionals, using construction plans, drawings and specifications;
- Develop design ideas using current industry software;
- Apply loadings to and calculate stresses and load paths through different parts of a structure;
- Ensure that projects meet legal guidelines, environmental directives, and health and safety requirements;
- Prepare bids for tenders;
- Maintain quality service by following company standards;
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies;
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
- Provide progress reports to clients and senior managers.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Robust knowledge of structural mechanics and engineering principles;
- Excellent design calculation capabilities and experience of using sector-related software packages such as Tekla Structural Designer (Fastrak Building Designer), Fastrak Portal Frame, Masterframe / STAAD PRO, Masterseries Connections etc.;
- Extensive experience in working within a structural design role, preferably also with experience in connection design.

Salary will be dependent on experience, and my client offers a competitive benefits package including company pension, sick pay scheme, health plan, cycle to work scheme, share save scheme and the option to purchase additional holidays.
