We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Structural Engineer to lead and manage a diverse range of schemes, from domestic alterations and extensions to bespoke commercial developments.
As part of an accredited Gold Investors in People multi-disciplinary consultancy, you'll join a collaborative team where your expertise is genuinely valued, with clear pathways for career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural design calculations for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry in line with British Standards and Eurocodes.
- Lead projects from conception to completion, ensuring design quality, safety, commercial efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Work independently on smaller projects or collaborate as part of a team on larger schemes across multidisciplinary disciplines.
- Supervise trial hole investigations for refurbishment works and conduct visual structural inspections.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster technical excellence across the team.
- Liaise directly with clients, design teams, and contractors, attending project meetings as required.
- Contribute to business development, fee proposals, and tender submissions.
What We Are Looking For
- Technical Expertise: Solid knowledge of British Standards and Design Codes with designs grounded in strong engineering principles.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in design packages like Tekla, CADS, and Tedds (AutoCAD experience is a bonus) .
- Experience: Ideally 5-7+ years working within a similar engineering consultancy.
- Qualifications: Relevant Engineering degree. Chartered status (ICE or IStructE) or working towards/close to achieving it.
- Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence with access to a car for business use, and full Right to Work in the UK.
