NEOS Engineering are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join an established engineering contractor working on the major HS2 project in Aylesbury.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced
Project Engineer / Civil Engineer with a strong background in earthworks or major infrastructure to take ownership of complex engineering projects and play a key role in their successful delivery.
THE ROLE
As Project Engineer, you'll act as a key technical authority on the project, providing engineering guidance and oversight across the full project lifecycle - from initial planning and design through to execution and completion.
You'll work closely with clients, subcontractors, commercial, planning and HSEQ teams , ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take ownership of project objectives across safety, quality, programme and commercial performance .
- Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from planning and design through to execution and completion.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders .
- Act as a key point of contact, resolving issues and supporting effective project delivery.
- Coordinate closely with commercial, planning and HSEQ teams to ensure integrated project planning.
- Support accurate forecasting and proactive risk management.
- Provide leadership and direction to the project team, driving high standards of performance.
- Monitor and report on project progress, risks and opportunities to senior management.
- Implement corrective actions where required to protect project delivery targets.
- Ensure all works comply with contractual obligations, industry standards and relevant regulations.
- Support a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement across the project.
- Mentor and support team members, contributing to development and succession planning.
ABOUT YOU
- Extensive experience within earthworks, civil engineering or major infrastructure .
- A proven track record of delivering complex projects to high standards of quality and safety.
- Strong technical knowledge across core civil engineering disciplines.
- Experience working within demanding construction environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong project management and commercial awareness.
- The ability to make sound technical decisions and resolve issues proactively.
Chartered status with ICE or actively working towards Chartered status .
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
