YOUR ROLE
Our e-commerce operation based in East Midlands Gateway who provide essential logistics services such as inbound & outbound customer fulfilment and value-added services, as well as utilising an approved network of transport providers have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic HSEQ & Facilities Manager where you will implement and manage local health, safety and security processes, procedures and systems, ensuring service, quality, maintenance and safe working practices across the operation.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Senior General Manager, you will coordinate and lead all planned maintenance across the operation, ensuring minimal disruption to day-to-day activities, you will identify improvements relating to security and facilities management, overseeing all employees, subcontractors, clients and external visitors on site ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and challenging those that do not adhere to process. You will investigate failures across the operation ensuring appropriate remedial actions and improvements are embedded without delay and maintain and manage all soft services relating to the site, including security, CCTV, maintenance, waste removal, mail, cleaning and so on.
You will build and maintain operational trackers providing management teams with information on all work streams including budget reviews, risk assessments, action plans and contractual targets. Collaborating with central HSEQ teams, you will lead onsite GEMBA, workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring monthly KPI data is reported, analysing data and identifying trends. You will facilitate incident reductions, communicating safety alerts and targeted campaigns. You identify quality and continuous improvement initiatives coordinating localized activities, committee meetings and management reviews.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate will have proven health, safety and facilities management experience, ideally within a large warehousing or third-party logistics environment. You will be IOSH qualified with strong operational knowledge, and experienced in developing and implementing HSE policies, practices and operational excellence programmes. You will be capable of building excellent working relationships both internally and externally, with natural communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.
Experience of cost models and budget tracking along with strong report writing and statistical investigative skills are also key requirements for this role.
