The Director of Information Technology provides strategic and operational leadership for all IT functions at AIU. The role ensures reliable, secure, and scalable technology systems that support academic and administrative excellence. Working closely with senior leadership, the Director advances digital transformation initiatives, data integration, and innovation across the University.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of IT strategies that support institutional goals.
- Oversee system performance, cybersecurity, and data governance across all university platforms.
- Direct implementation, integration, and optimization of Banner, Canvas, Salesforce, Oracle Finance, and Tableau.
- Manage infrastructure, network operations, and IT service delivery to ensure high reliability and user satisfaction.
- Supervise and mentor IT staff, promoting accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
- Collaborate with university leaders to align technology with academic and administrative priorities.
- Administer IT budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor compliance with institutional, accreditation, and data-protection standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and project management skills in enterprise technology environments.
- Experience managing Banner, Canvas, Salesforce, Oracle Finance, and Tableau or similar systems.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, data management, and systems integration best practices.
- Effective communicator capable of leading cross-departmental technology initiatives.
- Ability to manage complex operations, budgets, and vendor relationships.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; Doctorate preferred.
- Minimum seven (7) years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably in higher education.
- Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, CCIO, or CISSP are an advantage.
