Our Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory (GLCR) team provides first class advice to colleagues and functions across the organization – ensuring AIG navigates an ever-changing landscape that spans state, federal, and international lines. The team has a multi-dimensional impact, from helping avoid legal exposure to collaborating with other functions to develop cutting-edge new products.
How you will create an impact:
- The Vendor Manager will be responsible for ensuring effective law firm and legal vendor engagement for the GLCR department, focusing on the UK, EMEA & APAC regions.
- This newly created global role will be a key component of our legal vendor management and financial monitoring structure and will play a pivotal role in establishing financial and vendor performance key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on law firm/legal vendor engagement and onboarding for GLCR-managed matters, ensuring that AIG has the appropriate roster of law firms and legal vendors.
- Ensure effective collaboration and communication with law firms/legal vendors throughout the lifecycle of legal matters and monitor the quality and progress of legal work undertaken by vendors.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve vendor performance and value.
- Maintain detailed records of vendor engagements and performance, providing reports and analysis to department leadership and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with leadership to manage the financial affairs of GLCR, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, allocations, and accruals.
- Communicate with law firms and legal vendors on expense/invoice submission.
- Participate in financial analysis and forecasting activities to support strategic planning and decision-making and assist in law firm/legal vendor management.
- Contribute to compliance with financial and vendor management policies and regulations.
- Enable successful completion of law firm annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process.
- Execute firm engagements, security and control assessments, and other firm and vendor administration-related deliverables; manage law firm and legal vendor contacts, such as billing and relationship partner communication.
- Manage conflicts and waivers for all legal vendors of AIG, working closely with legal teams and vendors to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure accurate data in connection with firm eBilling and matter management records in outside counsel management system.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- BA degree or equivalent.
- Legal vendor management experience in the legal, financial services or insurance industry.
- Law firm relationship management experience.
- Strong relationship building skills; experience working with attorneys and other business executives is a plus.
- Knowledge of legal procedures preferred.
- Quantitative analysis abilities.
- Experience in legal forecasting and budgeting is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy and on-time delivery.
