How you will create an impact
Reporting into the UK Head of Cyber & Technology, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cyber professional to join a dynamic department at one of the largest insurers of Cyber Liability and Technology Professional Indemnity. This role will be critical in continuing the growth trajectory of UK Cyber and Tech PI, playing a key part in the creation of strategic growth initiatives and ensuring profitable growth through considered development of broker and client relations. You will be responsible for handling a portfolio of AIG’s most complex accounts, including captive and multinational solutions, as well as managing a team of Senior Underwriters and Underwriters reporting to you. The successful applicant will join our global cyber community of practice (COP) to shape the training and ongoing education of our global underwriting teams. You will also participate in government, regulatory and insurance market committees in support of the product head and be prepared to represent the company in any key client and broker meetings.
- Develop strategies alongside the product head to build profitable growth to the UK Cyber and Tech PI portfolios.
- Act as referral point in accordance with product governance.
- Work with supporting areas to control and measure facilities and take action when needed.
- Support and drive Broker Management initiatives.
- Support the team’s production by delivering timely product changes/upgrades to keep pace with market needs and trends.
- Drive research and development, working alongside claims to make sure products launched are the result of market needs and company appetite.
- Play a key role in product innovation and constantly evolve coverage and services offered.
- Work on the necessary changes to proposal forms and information requirements from clients that help underwriters to better assess the risk while minimizing the burden for the clients.
- Work closely with marketing and communications to produce materials to update our clients and brokers regarding our underwriting appetite, risk trends or new products and service developments.
- Collaborate with the other product lines and regional heads to replicate best practices and cross sell opportunities, leveraging broader company relationships.
- Drive a thought leadership framework for both internal and external use anchored in claims activity and emerging trends.
- Oversee compliance/progress of underwriting training and coordinating underwriting authorities.
- Provide oversight and tracking of quarterly peer reviews for UK cyber.
- Coordinate Underwriting Rules with UK head of Cyber and Cyber Global product team and the global product team.
What you’ll need to succeed
- A demonstrable track record and experience in Cyber and Technology Underwriting, Broking or Claims.
- Experience of multinational and captive solutions would be beneficial.
- Strong understanding of preventative cyber risk management, to maximise the value of AIG’s Cyber Loss Control services.
- A good understanding of the Cyber and Tech business model, underwriting methodology and the risks we assume.
- High level of business acumen, problem-solving skills, as well as dealing with ambiguity.
- Program Management and Governance experience.
- Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition, and multiple distribution systems.
- Analytical and quantitative skills.
- Excellent leadership, presentation, prioritisation, communication and time management skills.
