AIG’s Credit Lines (Trade Credit, Trade Finance, and Political Risk) help Corporates (medium and large companies), from a wide variety of industry sectors and Financial Institutions, navigate the complexities of local and global business practices by offering non-payment credit insurance solutions.

How you will create an impact

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Officer to join our Credit Risk Team in London. This position is suited for professionals with a solid grounding in Political Risk credit analysis and financial assessment. You will contribute to evaluating buyer risks, supporting underwriting decisions, and helping maintain a high-quality credit portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Credit Analysis
    • Perform annual credit reviews and ORR (grade) recommendations for Structured Credit and Project Finance obligors within the PRG UK portfolio.
    • Provide credit analysis across transactions of various Political Risk products and Trade Finance and contribute towards deal memos regarding Credit Risk.
    • Establish limits on appetite as per obligor group to support specific transactions and provide general capacity.
    • Execute approvals based on own authority to be delegated or present review results to internal authority holders.
    • Perform obligor visits/calls as needed and participate on market presentations for Investors/Analysts.
    • Participate on internal presentations of transactions covering Credit risk of obligor.
  • Portfolio Management
    • Ensure ORR coverage for all Buyer names in the assigned portfolio of Buyer groups.
    • Ensure ORR aging is within Credit Lines and AIG Credit Policy Guidelines.
    • Ensure max exposure limits are in place and in date for all obligor groups assigned to the managed portfolio.
    • Ensure all approvals and related supporting materials are documented and saved within the appropriate credit management systems.
    • Respond to ad-hoc exposure inquiries from Credit Lines or Enterprise Risk management.
    • Respond to UW ad-hoc requests for credit appetite to specific renewals and/or new business opportunities in a time efficient manner.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Collaboration with the Heads of the Credit Lines business to support achievement of Credit Lines business objectives.
    • Collaboration with PRG & TF Underwriters regarding PRG UK Portfolio obligors to obtain information required for the assessment.
    • Collaboration with PRG & TF Underwriters regarding Structured Transactions.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Minimum 10 years’ credit risk and transaction analysis experience developed within a leading bank, trade credit or equivalent organisation.
  • Experience of using different market leading credit risk analysis techniques and tools.
  • Understanding of Credit Lines products and their respective credit risk drivers and mitigants.
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral, presentations.
  • Organisational skills and project management.
  • Ability to manage time pressure, deadlines and competing tasks/prioritise on behalf of the credit officer team.
  • Ability to handle a varied workload in a diverse and growing portfolio.
  • Proven decision making skills.
  • Interpersonal skills - team player with internal and external stakeholders/clients.
  • Multiple Languages helpful, ability to engage with diverse, global teams.
  • Willingness to travel regionally is desirable.
  • Business acumen.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment.
