Make your mark in Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory (GLCR)
The UK Legal team sits within the Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory (GLCR) team. GLCR provides first class advice to colleagues and functions across the organisation – ensuring AIG navigates an ever-changing landscape. The GLCR team has a multi-dimensional impact, from helping avoid legal exposure to collaborating with other functions to help them achieve their targets within the UK legal and regulatory framework.
How you will create an impact
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Paralegal to support a variety of commercial legal matters. This newly created role is key to ensuring the smooth operations across daily tasks and long-term projects. Some key responsibilities include:
- Document drafting: assist with drafting, reviewing and collating various commercial agreements, reports, memos, marketing materials, client letters and presentations
- Document management: organise and maintain files, including template agreements, legal procedures/manuals and records, to ensure easy accessibility and accurate record-keeping
- Administrative support: provide administrative support to members of the UK Legal team, including but not limited to coordinating and scheduling meetings, tracking actions to help drive completion of key deliverables, submitting approvals to Group for the instruction of external counsel, assisting with the review and approval of legal invoices, handling post and courier deliveries and coordinating memberships and subscriptions (including practice certificates)
- Legal research: conduct and summarise legal research, liaise with external counsel regarding training for the UK Legal team and/or the business, and assist with educating staff
- Project support: assist with ad hoc projects as required
- Legal trainees: ensure the efficient onboarding and offboarding of trainees/secondees
- Intake and triage: ensure the efficient intake and triage of legal instructions to ensure requests are appropriately brought to a resolution
- Stakeholder management: build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the organisation
What you’ll need to succeed
- Experience working as a Paralegal in the Financial Services industry
- Proactive, collaborative and pragmatic with excellent organisational skills
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and work well under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including a good level of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Strong attention to detail with the ability produce accurate, high-quality work
- Ability to handle confidential information with high level of discretion
