AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. How you will create an impact

The Global Property Underwriting Specialist will be part of the Global Property CUO team which focuses on:

  • Global Property Strategy, Risk Appetite, Authority Framework, Guidelines.
  • Portfolio Steering for Global Commercial Property.
  • Aggregation Risk (CAT, Terrorism, SRCC, 4 Wall. CBI etc.) monitoring and strategy.
  • Developing tools to continually improve the Underwriting Experience.
  • Identifying, processing, and delivering data that improves decision making at the portfolio level and in the field.
Responsibilities of the Role:
  • Monitoring and developing Underwriting guidelines in collaboration with Global Property CUO.
  • Collaborate with the Global Head of Underwriting Technical Training and the CUO Property (Global and NA) to develop and drive global technical training modules including hosting and managing the trainings.
  • Responsible for updating and managing the global Property SharePoint site.
  • Developing, and support in developing and reviewing CUO driven global and regional tools in collaboration with the relevant departments.
  • Representation of the Property CUO in projects, including SCUP, data and digital initiatives and additional priorities identified.
  • Collaborate with senior members in Operations to bring an Underwriter's perspective to the development of our systems and tools, with the ultimate focus on user functionality.
  • Manage, collaborate and engage in various global Property specific projects across divisions.
  • Manage, maintain and update underwriting tools by working closely with front-line Underwriters to understand their needs and feed this back into the business.
  • In collaboration with the CUO, manage and drive the data insight partnering in the team including analysing internal & external data (i.e. scorecards).
What you'll need to succeed:
  • Extensive experience in insurance, preferably on regional or global level.
  • Extensive experience either in Property Underwriting, Finance (preferable FP&A) or in Actuarial.
  • An understanding of or exposure to large Property insurance portfolios, the ability to have a "portfolio view".
  • Detailed knowledge how to build and understand strategies.
  • Experience working across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Experience in collaborating and working across different senior level stakeholders.
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
  • Can demonstrate a background in developing and maintaining a broad network of contacts within a global insurance organisation.
