As a Claims Adjuster, you are respected for your technical expertise. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mind-set. You take ownership and drive successful outcomes for the client and AIG.

About the role

  • Key claims handling, coverage determination, quantum analysis and legal liability assessment where appropriate and within authority limits.
  • Work with the Head of Aerospace UK and the team to ensure effective vendor and litigation management on all lead claims.
  • Broad internal stakeholder communication where required.
  • Strive for continuous improvement on claim file handling with feedback and support through the Quality Assurance review processes.
  • Contribute to maintenance of best practice procedures for Aerospace complex claims, consistent with global best practices.
  • Handle Aerospace claims allocated within agreed level of authority limit.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of technical claims competence and efficiency.
  • Feedback claims trend analysis to team and internal stakeholders.
  • Attend claims reviews and travel, as required.

What we are looking for

  • A person with prior experience in Aerospace insurance claims.
  • Experience of handling losses arising from all the Aerospace sub-classes in a lead capacity.
  • Sound knowledge of policy language enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
  • Experience in managing external vendors including lawyers, surveyors for the benefit of the client, AIG and the following market.
  • Ability to deliver timely and accurate information to our key stakeholders – the client, the broker, our underwriters and brokers, as well as claims management.
  • Good knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements specific to Aerospace.
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills who thrives in a dynamic claims handling environment.
  • Experience of market IT systems and ability analyse and interpret data from many sources.
