How you will create an impact:
- Working with the business and IT management, and project teams to promote the importance of data governance and data quality.
- Understanding the data flows across key AIG business processes and systems.
- Supporting business stakeholders in data classification, identifying personal information processing within the data flows, and recording it in the data governance tool to establish the records of processing activities (as required by GDPR and other privacy laws worldwide).
- Working with the business stakeholders to identify Critical Business Terms within their business processes, mapping them to the enterprise business glossary and data flow documentation.
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to support them in their work to improve data and its quality in key business processes, appoint Data Owners and Stewards for data in individual data segments / business areas.
- Supporting business data stewards and SMEs in definition of business / data quality rules for identified Critical Business Terms, and the review of the data quality assessment results.
- Review of the data flows and controls over the quality of data to identify steps where the risk of data error is highest, documentation and reporting of identified control weaknesses.
- Engagement in the processes to review alignment and support the business and strategic initiatives in adherence to the data management requirements in line with the AIG Data Management Policy and Standards.
- Producing standard and custom reports for business stakeholders and regulators based on the records in the data governance tool.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Interest in data management, data quality, data protection, etc.
- A bachelor’s degree or experience (2+ years) in business administration, data analytics, Finance, IT or a related field.
- Experience in engaging with business and / or IT management to understand business processes, data flows, controls or business needs.
- General knowledge of the GDPR and / or other privacy law requirements.
- Experience in data governance, data quality, audit, risk management and / or related area will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with the insurance industry, processes, and terminology will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in using MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio).
- Strong organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work closely with peers and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
