AIG’s Credit Lines (Trade Credit, Trade Finance, and Political Risk) help Corporates (medium and large companies), from a wide variety of industry sectors and Financial Institutions, navigate the complexities of local and global business practices by offering non-payment credit insurance solutions.
How you will create an impact
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Analyst to join our Credit Risk Team in London. This position is suited for professionals with a solid grounding in credit analysis and financial assessment who are ready to deepen their expertise in trade credit risk. You will contribute to evaluating buyer risks, supporting underwriting decisions, and helping maintain a high-quality credit portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Perform financial analysis and qualitative assessments of companies across various sectors.
- Preparing credit evaluations and identifying key risks.
- Monitor assigned buyer portfolios and flag emerging risk indicators.
- Prepare clear, concise credit reports and contribute to internal risk discussions.
- Collaborate with underwriting, commercial, and claims teams to support comprehensive risk management.
- Participate in refining internal analysis tools and processes.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in credit analysis, trade finance, commercial banking, or related financial fields.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and assess company performance.
- Interest in and understanding of trade credit insurance principles (experience in the sector is an advantage but not mandatory).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with financial analysis tools and relevant software.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Any additional language is an extra benefit.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics or related discipline; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA) is a plus.
