How you will create an impact
We seek a proactive, results-driven individual eager to develop a career in Motor Claims. The successful candidate will support the department in providing a customer-focused, cost-efficient claims handling service through a proactive approach that emphasises customer service, operating within a regulatory framework. This client-facing role involves coverage, legal liability, and quantum analysis, with interaction with brokers, insureds, external providers, and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing court documents and coordinating with internal teams, TPAs, and panel lawyers
- Handling and investigating claims within authority limits, ensuring accurate and timely reserving
- Overseeing the Incoming Court Documents process and maintaining records
- Engaging proactively with claimants and representatives to achieve the best outcomes
- Contributing to departmental KPIs and personal objectives
- Promoting compliance and principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)
- Supporting claims team and underwriters with feedback on claims issues and market trends
- Identifying and reviewing suspect/fraudulent claims in line with internal policies
- Supporting team collaboration and fostering a positive attitude
What you’ll need to succeed
- Experience in handling third-party motor claims, including personal injury, property damage, and credit hire claims (desirable)
- Understanding of claims procedures and familiarity with claims systems, including MOJ & OIC portals
- Effective communication skills for verbal and written interactions
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory environments related to claims
- Ability to assess legal liability, damage, and investigation needs
- Self-motivated, proactive, with responsibility for own caseload
