How you will create an impact:

  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely corporate reporting:
  • Talbot consolidation and Group reporting to AIG in accordance to deadlines
  • Corporate entity reporting including commentary on key movements
  • UK and overseas statutory reporting, including dealing with audit queries
  • Prepare board papers to support the sign‐off of the financial statements
  • Regulatory reporting to Lloyd's (QF1/AF1) and other UK or overseas regulators
  • Committee/Board packs for Corporate entities
  • Ensure efficient and effective accounting processes and controls:
    • Corporate accounting processes
    • Intercompany reconciliations for service level agreements
    • Balance sheet substantiation, including comprehensive reconciliations
    • Support interim and year‐end SOX requirements
    • Continuous improvement of the quality and efficiency of underlying working files
    • Provide cover for broader Corporate team
  • Support complete, accurate and timely tax submissions:
    • Corporate tax returns for UK and overseas
    • Lloyd's related submissions and returns
    • Assist with the preparation and submission of Singapore GST return
    • Provide tax certificates and other tax documents to the business
  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely broker financial reviews
  • Support due diligence process
  • Assist Corporate Controller in enhancing processes, reporting and documentation.
  • Ensure documentation maintained for key processes and controls
  • Keep up‐to‐date with changes in new financial reporting standards/disclosures and production of associated accounting judgement papers
  • The role also involves participating in ad hoc projects, where necessary.

    What you’ll need to succeed:

    • 5+ years working in a similar role (insurance industry preferable)
    • Qualified Accountant (5+ years preferable)
    • Highly driven and ambitious self‐starter with the willingness to embed change, where necessary
    • Good knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards
    • Good analytical skills
    • Good knowledge of financial process and controls
    • Good communication skills
    • Good I.T. skills, including Microsoft Office and advanced Excel
    • Good knowledge general ledger systems (e.g. SAP/Sun)
    • Tax knowledge is not a prerequisite but desirable to support Group with tax returns
