About the role :

  • To actively support the Personal Accident Claims function in attaining its objectives through the proactive assessment and management of genuine claims within the agreed settlement authority limit.
  • Contribute to the department achieving its overall objectives by ensuring the delivery of a customer-focused service whilst operating within a legal regulatory framework.

How you\’ll make an impact:

  • Handle and investigate all complex claims allocated in accordance with internal service levels, best practice requirements, and policy conditions.
  • Develop and maintain technical and soft skills for accurate assessment and reserving of complex claims according to guidelines and authority limits.
  • Promote compliance with best practices in claims assessment, adhering to procedures applicable to Corporate and Direct policies.
  • Actively promote and demonstrate the principles of Treating Customers Fairly in claims handling, reinforcing FCA and internal complaints procedures.
  • Proactively identify and review suspect or fraudulent claims using key fraud indicators.

What you\’ll need to succeed:

  • Previous Accident & Health or Personal Accident claims experience
  • Policy language skills for accurate interpretation of policy wording
  • Basic knowledge of legal, regulatory, and litigation procedural requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good time management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong customer service and negotiation skills
