Overview
In this role you will contribute to the PI underwriting strategy within the UK portfolio, handling large UK-based clients and SME volumes. You’ll work closely with the London PI team to drive profitability, maintain renewal retention, and deliver excellent broker service. You will analyse financial information, manage data in underwriting systems, and pursue new business through broker relationships. This position offers a hands-on path to influence underwriting practices and support AIG’s client-centric mission in a dynamic market.

Responsibilities
- Meet underwriting expectations to support budget targets
- Underwrite within standard decision-making authority
- Assess risk desirability via financial analysis, broker contact, and proposal review
- Review claims history and company information
- Utilise underwriting systems to streamline processes and track information
- Input data accurately and consistently
- Provide management information on submissions, bind rate, and premiums as needed
- Deliver excellent broker service with timely, proactive communication
- Demonstrate sales-oriented behaviours and accountability
- Generate new business by expanding broker networks and client relationships
- Support PI underwriting strategy for the UK portfolio
- Maintain renewal accounts with retention >85%
- Ensure fair treatment of brokers and clients and contract certainty
- Conduct self-audits as required and ensure regulatory and risk controls
- Demonstrate AIG values in all activities
Key requirements
- Proven PI underwriting experience preferred; other relevant experience acceptable if with renewal and new business track record
- Strong communication skills
- Time management to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
