Overview
In this role you will lead Talbot’s Operations function within the Lloyd’s market, shaping the operating model to support growth and regulatory compliance. You’ll partner with business leaders to translate customer and operational needs into service, process and control requirements. You will represent Talbot at LMA forums and drive cost-efficient operations with third-party providers where appropriate. You will build and develop a high-performing Operations team, oversee risks and controls, and align procurement and vendor management with strategic priorities. Responsibilities
- Create and drive Operations’ strategy aligned with Talbot’s overall strategy
- Collaborate with business leaders to translate customer/operational needs into service/process requirements
- Represent Talbot at LMA forums
- Design and embed an effective operating model with appropriate use of third parties
- Own Outsource Service Provider (OSP) relationships: onboarding, performance monitoring, and exits
- Support CFO in procurement/vendor management and liaise with Global Sourcing & Procurement Services
- Ensure regulatory, legislative and Lloyd’s standards are met with robust governance and controls
- Provide timely operational MI for governance, audits and Lloyd’s/prudential reviews
- Own and manage operational risks, standards, and policy implementations; drive continuous improvement
- Lead capacity, cost, and resource management to deliver services within budget
- Build and develop an Operations team with ongoing capability development and succession planning
- Identify training needs and provide performance feedback aligned with HR processes
Key requirements

- Extensive experience in Lloyd’s/London Market (re)insurance and regulatory familiarity
- Proven track record in managing a team
- Experience delivering large-scale, multi-workstream projects
- Strategic planning experience with Executives to drive Operations agenda
- Ability to interpret market/macroeconomic trends and translate into operations strategy
- Analytical mindset to drive growth and profitability
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Self-management with ability to escalate to senior management when needed
