Overview
In this role you will underwrite SME Package and Commercial Combined business while developing new and existing broker and MGA relationships. You will manage portfolios, support product development, and drive profitable growth within AIG’s underwriting standards. You’ll collaborate across teams, handle referrals, and contribute to change initiatives and regulatory risk oversight. This is a hands-on, in-office role at a global insurer with a focus on growth, service quality, and professional development.

Responsibilities
- Manage key broker/scheme accounts and conduct portfolio reviews to drive profitable growth
- Handle underwriting referrals from brokers, schemes, and MGAs across multiple platforms
- Provide underwriting service as part of a team and act as an internal referral point for staff with lower authority
- Establish and develop relationships with key brokers and internal stakeholders
- Become SME on the Acturis trading platform and support product development
- Drive service and product improvements and support change initiatives to completion
- Work within decision-making standards and authorities; ensure regulatory and risk responsibilities are met
- Pursue personal career development and adapt to changing work environments
Key requirements
- Strong Commercial Underwriting background at company or MGA/UW Agency level
- Experience with SME Package and Commercial Combined preferred
- Ability to handle underwriting referrals from brokers/MGAs and junior staff; SME/Property and Casualty experience preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Highly numerate with ability to analyse MI and portfolio performance and recommend optimisations
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize across work streams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of learning new underwriting/e-trade platforms
