The Massage Therapy Instructor cultivates the school’s mission and objectives through student instruction, guidance, and review to ensure the successful academic program and personal development of each student.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Program/Course
- Responsible for comprehensive course instruction within a specified program.
- Provide input to the Program Director/Director of Education on course development.
- Create and revise daily lesson plans.
- Engage in continued professional growth by attending in-service training and/or continuing education seminars and faculty meetings.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academics.
- Student Development
- Foster a classroom environment that supports students’ academic growth and guides their professional development.
- Keep the DOE apprised of student progress, including performance trends affecting educational foundation.
- Provide extra help to students experiencing difficulty in mastering course work.
- Advising and referrals
- Advise students who have minor problems; refer students with major problems to the Program Director/Director of Education.
- Assessments
- Correct and return quizzes, tests, and lab assignments within 48 hours.
- Use instructional and audiovisual aids and available online resources to support instruction.
- Community engagement
- Demonstrate utilization of community resources by arranging guest speakers, field trips, and participation in community service events.
- Equipment and compliance
- Report damaged, broken, or malfunctioning equipment promptly to the Program Director/Director of Education.
- Turn in grades within 48 hours of the end of term.
- Perform other duties as required by the Program Director/Director of Education.
- Enhance the curriculum as needed by devising assignments, worksheets, notes, tests and answer keys, and activities.
- Compliance
- Demonstrate knowledge of and follow all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations.
- Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff and escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Required Skills/Education/Experience
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Minimum three years of experience in the field.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT).
Work Environment/Physical Demands
This is an on-campus position with occasional remote work. Home office setup, quiet space to work, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection may be required. May require setup of computer equipment; accommodation available upon request.
