Job Purpose

To be responsible for the preparation and accurate vehicle loading for all aspects of the loading operation in order that orders are delivered on time and in full and that all orders are transferred between warehouses in an accurate and timely manner, therefore meeting the requirements of Alloga UK, its Clients and Governing Bodies.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that all work activities are in line with the Company Health & Safety policies/standards at all times.
  • To ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported immediately to the Loading Supervisor or Loading Team Leader.
  • To ensure that only equipment for which full training has been received is operated.
  • To report any damage or defects whether it be to road or on-site equipment or property to the Loading Supervisor.
  • To adhere to Department of Transport regulations for Air Freight Security.
  • To ensure that all doors are secured or manned at all times ensuring no unauthorized entry to site by challenging any personnel not displaying a valid identity pass.
  • To ensure that personal appearance is in keeping with the company guidelines ensuring that the company uniform is worn and is clean and in presentable condition together with the wearing and displaying of a valid identity pass.
  • To ensure that all operations are in line with MHRA and GDP standards including maintaining excellent standards of housekeeping.
  • To ensure that cold-chain and controlled drug disciplines are adhered to at all times.
  • To encourage continuous improvement in all areas of contract operations.
  • To ensure that any errors identified during load assembly are recorded and fed back to the Loading Supervisor or Loading Team Leader.
  • To communicate effectively with the loading team and other departments.
  • To ensure of complete and accurate scanning of orders for the load and checking content against the final shipped load sheet.
  • To ensure that all loading, transport, driver and customer documentation is completed accurately and in full.
  • To ensure that all POD’s raised for collection vehicles are completed in full by the driver.
  • To carry out any reasonable requests as determined by Management.
  • To ensure that all department activity is performed in accordance with company procedures and client instructions.
  • Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures and Training Manuals in order to ensure activities are performed in compliance with relevant requirements of GDP, GMP (as applicable) and any ISO certifications held by the company.

Skills and Experience Required

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse.
  • Sound Knowledge of GDP and Health & Safety.
  • An understanding of Air Freight Security Regulations.
  • Qualified in ROPT.
  • Experienced in operating an RDT.
  • Trained in all relevant SOP’s within 12 weeks.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Punctual with a good work ethic and attendance record.
  • Able to work quickly and accurately.
  • Confident, enthusiastic with good interpersonal skills.
  • Uses initiative and judgement effectively to make correct decisions.
  • Honest and open approach.
