As a Management Accountant, you will play a vital role in the financial management and reporting for American Golf Trading. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing key accounting processes, and delivering critical financial insights to support business operations. Your expertise in financial reporting, reconciliation, and cost analysis will contribute to strategic decision-making and overall financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate prepayments and accruals, ensuring accurate monthly journal postings.
- Produce monthly management reports, including P&L and Balance Sheet, with clear and insightful commentary.
- Reconcile monthly stock reports, ensuring adherence to the stock provisioning policy and calculating monthly/year-end provisions.
- Manage intercompany recharges, reconciling General Ledger, Sales, and Purchase Ledgers across the group.
- Assist with the year-end audit, providing necessary documentation and liaising with external auditors.
- Complete the monthly gift card reconciliation process, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Calculate weekly VAT forecasts to support cash flow forecasting.
- Prepare monthly departmental cost schedules, analysing variances and discussing them with Heads of Departments.
- Maintain the Property Leases and Property Portfolio schedule, ensuring financial records are up to date.
- Liaise with landlords regarding rent payments, ensuring lease costs and incentives are correctly accounted for.
- Manage the accounting for electricity and gas, including posting and authorising monthly invoices in Navision, liaising with energy brokers to investigate and resolve invoice queries, calculating and posting monthly accruals, and maintaining a register of MPAN numbers.
- Prepare annual budgets and compare monthly actuals to budgets/forecasts to identify variances.
- Complete monthly courier cost schedules, liaising with the FPA team to support budget and forecasting processes.
- Review General Ledger postings to ensure invoices are recorded accurately in Navision.
- Provide ad hoc financial support to the Finance team as required.
The Candidate:
- Certification and Expertise: Qualified with AAT or equivalent, potentially studying CIMA/ACCA or QBE.
- Finance Experience: Proven experience in finance team roles, with strong accounting skills and knowledge of financial reporting.
- Excel and Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel and experience using accounting software for financial management.
