Company Overview:
American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care providers in the U.S., offering services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our state-of-the-art centers focus on episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each location is equipped with an onsite lab and in-house x-ray capabilities. AFC is the parent company of AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF). This position works directly with a franchised location, and specific duties and benefits may vary between franchises.
Job Summary:
Perform radiographic and diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing injuries and diseases. Assist with administrative and clinical tasks, such as patient registration and medical assisting duties.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and explain procedures compassionately
- Position patients appropriately for imaging procedures
- Practice ALARA radiation protection techniques
- Process images, review for proper ID and quality, and prepare for physician review
- Operate digital and non-digital imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with policies
- Assist providers with prescribed treatments following standards and protocols
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and coordinate repairs
- Maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed
- Serve as Medical Receptionist or Medical Assistant as needed within guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience. ARRT-registered or eligible preferred. Licensed per state regulations. In some states, Medical Assistant Certification, Practical Nursing License, EMT, or Paramedic certification is acceptable.
