The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) cares for patients within their scope of training and approved agreement, as outlined by their governing board. They work collaboratively with other providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high patient satisfaction. This position works directly with a franchised business location, and specific duties and benefits may vary between franchises.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete, detailed, and accurate health histories, review patient records, develop comprehensive medical assessments, and order laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies appropriate for the patient\’s complaint, race, sex, and physical condition.
- Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals to appropriate healthcare facilities, agencies, and community resources or physicians.
- Institute emergency measures and treatment or stabilization in situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions.
- Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient status and management plans.
- Provide instructions and guidance on healthcare and health promotion to patients and their families/significant others.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills with staff, patients, and families.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Board certification by ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA (with 1 year ER/UC experience preferred).
- Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice, including DEA number and state-controlled substance certificate as required.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently.
