Job Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) cares for patients within their scope of training and approved agreements, as outlined by their governing board. Collaborates with other providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high patient satisfaction. This position works directly with a franchised business location. Specific duties and benefits may vary between franchises.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed health histories, review patient records, develop medical assessments, and order laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies appropriate for the patient's complaint, race, sex, and physical condition.
- Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and initiate therapy or referrals to appropriate healthcare facilities, agencies, or physicians.
- Implement emergency measures and treatments in situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions.
- Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient status and management plans.
- Provide health care guidance and health promotion instructions to patients and their families.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills with staff, patients, and families.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Board Certified by ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA (1 year ER/UC experience preferred).
- Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice, including DEA number and state-controlled substance certificate as required.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently.
