EDDS brings together multiple Centers of Excellence (COE) to be an engine of growth, marketplace differentiation and efficiency for American Express in today's digital world. They leverage technology, design and data analytics to develop the best digital products, platforms and personalisation that allow us to deliver the world's best customer experience every day.

How will you make an impact in this role? Joining as a digital product manager at American Express is, at its heart, about making a positive difference in people’s lives by improving the products and journeys we offer, in more than 25 countries. Imagine for a minute that you see an advertisement for an American Express card that excites you. You click on the ad, check out the benefits and decide to apply. You fill out the information about yourself in the application form, take a selfie or a video, upload a photo of your passport and recent bank statement and click submit. Seconds later you’re approved. The card is instantly available on your phone to use and start earning rewards, getting a free Uber or Deliveroo, or getting you access to restaurants and great travel experiences. This is the kind of experience you’ll be working towards as part of our team - owning part of the application/onboarding journey. You’ll help reduce the friction for people to apply for a card while ensuring we meet the complex set of regulatory standards in each country to protect against fraud and other criminal activity.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Understanding and representing user needs, both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously engage with partners to maintain product transparency, build trust, and address challenges.
  • Collaborating with local market teams to stay informed of international market trends and competitors.
  • Leveraging quantitative and qualitative data to understand customer experiences and behaviour to drive informed decisions, experimentation, product strategy and roadmap.
  • Partnering with engineering, design and other teams throughout the product lifecycle from ideation to delivery and ongoing iteration.
  • Prioritising product features and capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience of product management shipping features that delight customers and users.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills. You’re able to articulate the reasons behind your work and bring others along with you.
  • Strong collaboration & relationship skills – we are a relationship-oriented company, that values diverse perspectives.
  • Your ability to listen deeply, contextualise your insights are essential to achieving the best outcomes.
  • Interdisciplinary experience. In addition to the standard product functions of design and engineering, you have experience working with analytics, business development, communications/PR, marketing, and third-party distribution partners.
  • The spirit of an entrepreneur with an ability to contribute to product design, project management and technical ideas.
  • Experience in building and managing global digital products built for scale and reusability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with competing resources and priorities, through the product life cycle from planning and development, through launch.
