Overview
In this CRU Portfolio Manager role, you will assess and monitor credit risk across a portfolio of large exposures, driving prudent underwriting and profitable growth. You will work with front office, risk, and credit teams to review financials, apply credit metrics, and structure facilities. The role combines fundamental analysis with market insight to support risk-adjusted decisions. You will mentor analysts and stay informed on industry trends to articulate credible credit outlooks within a global bank-like environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor credit risk across a portfolio of large exposures by region, industry, and business line
- Underwrite larger credit programs, evaluate credit capacity, and structure facilities
- Review business and financial statements, compute key credit metrics, and consider industry/country risk
- Interact with front office, risk partners, and credit administration to perform duties
- Provide secondary review for smaller exposures and mentor CRU Analysts
- Stay informed on corporate developments and market sentiment and articulate industry outlooks
Key requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in credit analysis at a financial institution or rating agency
- Commercial credit assessment and underwriting experience, including short-term credit lines and risk mitigation techniques
- Fluency in French or German strongly preferred
- Ability to interpret credit model outputs and rationale for deviations
- Knowledge of public agency ratings and supporting analysis
- Understanding of macroeconomic trends and PD estimation mechanics
- Strong written and oral communication for diverse audiences
- Desirable: CFA or equivalent professional qualification
