Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) creates marketplace demand and drives brand consideration for American Express products and services amongst premium customers and Small Business Owners through differentiated and innovative insights, marketing, and experiences. The Global Sponsorships & Experiential Marketing team leads 40+ partnerships globally, delivering the best in ticket access, live event and digital experiences across Card Member passion points of sports, music and various other cultural interests.
The Senior Analyst in this role will sit on the International vertical within the broader Experiential Marketing team. They will work across the strategy, activation development, execution and measurement of partnerships across the International portfolio, reporting into a Senior Manager and collaborating with a 360° cross-functional team (internal and external) to launch fully integrated plans. Travel required (up to ~15%) to execute onsite programs and visit event sites as needed. The role will also support the team’s Sponsorship Centre of Excellence, which works closely with Amex local market and business unit teams to drive value through Sponsorships and Experiences across the Amex Enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Core team member supporting across all workstreams, including the strategy and execution of partnership activations within Entertainment and Sports, including access and benefits for Card Members, live activation planning and logistics, branding, partnership relations, utilization of contractual media and sponsorship assets and B2B hospitality programs.
- Collaborate with a robust set of internal and agency partners to deliver best-in-class plans, including with Amex’s internal agency to fully design end-to-end event experience with partner.
- Own and manage large scale budgets in partnership with the Finance team, ensuring close understanding of internal processes and ensuring project comes in at or under budget.
- Develop relationships across the American Express enterprise to leverage sponsorships to further business and brand goals in creative ways for both business and consumer customers.
- Communicate regular planning updates as well as full activation plans in strategic, clear manner to American Express team members and leaders.
- Represent American Express within the experiential marketing and sponsorship industry to deepen relationships, knowledge, and development to continue to be on cutting edge of customer experience.
Qualifications
- Work experience with sponsorship, large-scale events, or experiential marketing/partnerships.
- Proven track record in managing partners, cross-functional teams and agency partners.
- Proven track record in contributing towards positive team cultures.
- Must be able to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution.
- Ability to move projects forward and meet deadlines with limited oversight.
- Ability to work under pressure with compressed timelines.
- Maintain balance while managing various work streams while demonstrating composure.
- Strong communication skills (crafting/delivering presentations).
- Strong knowledge of Amex internal systems and processes.
- Focus on innovation and constant appetite to know and learn more about the industry – including experiential marketing, technology, payment innovations and competitive landscape.
- Strong measurement, data and analytical skills.
