How will you make an impact in this role? Global Merchant & Network Services brings together American Express' merchant-and network-related businesses. This includes GMS, which manages the relationships with the millions of merchants around the world that accept American Express.
Within GS&C, the Field Training & Business Enablement team is responsible for understanding key business priorities and creating innovative learning and onboarding curriculum that includes sales skills, product, company and industry knowledge, and tools for the Global Merchant Services Field organizations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly creative, Instructional Designer to gain a deep understanding of the GMNS organization, develop and refine specific learning experience solutions, and work with exposure to and insight from GMNS leadership. This position will report to the Director, Field Training & Business Enablement.
Responsibilities:
- Design and continuously improve GMNS learning experiences using an array of approaches that engage learners and drive high-impact learning, working collaboratively with global cross-functional teams.
- Own and develop the methodology for high-impact delivery, building high-quality content in the corresponding formats, including immersive learning experiences, game-based learning and instructor-led learning.
- Collaborate with learning consultants, partner teams, stakeholders, and SMEs to create, scale, and customize programs.
- Understand how colleague skill development drives enhanced performance and results for key business priorities; translate into core skills learning experiences tailored to support specific needs.
- Plan, design and assist in execution of engagement and reinforcement strategies to drive a blended and ongoing learning lifecycle to the Field organizations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Instructional design experience across modalities, including presentations, storyboards, audio and video scripts, learning activities, eLearning modules, infographics, training assessments, and user guides using sound instructional design theory.
- Strong proficiency with industry standard design software (including Adobe Creative Suite and Articulate RISE and Storyline 360, Articulate 360 Suite, Adobe, Camtasia, Audacity, and other authoring tools) and multimedia experience including video production.
- Proven eye for visual design, ability to convert strategies to effective and engaging learning experiences. Graphic design experience preferred.
- Experience implementing modern learning modalities including game-based learning, simulations and immersive scenarios requiring multiple branching elements, strongly preferred.
- Experience with using learning management systems to drive the delivery of training solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, thoughtfully innovating and working in an agile way.
- Keen attention to detail, high degree of accountability and integrity.
- Ability to travel (up to 10%).
