Join to apply for the Customer Care Professional β Credit Bust Out role at American Express. In this role you will join a group of customer servicing analysts specializing in the detection of first party fraud, analyzing accounts to determine whether a Card Member is genuine and has intent to pay back American Express. Our Credit Bust Out colleagues are problem solvers and relationship builders focused on quality and brand representation. The Brighton office operates as a 24/7 service centre environment. This role involves working Monday β Friday 9-5, with a contract for 35 hours per week.
What you will do is support customers by enabling spend and taking actions to recover balances, prevent fraud and limit exposure for American Express.
Responsibilities
- Use internal and external risk assessment tools to pre-empt potential high credit loss accounts.
- Assess the risk of false applications and conduct reviews of card accounts by determining linkages to other accounts, previous personal history, spend patterns and indicators.
- Take preventative action on accounts in a timely and accurate manner by placing appropriate blocks on cards.
- Escalate high value, high risk accounts to the Team Leader or above for early warning purposes.
- Balance customer experience with shareholder value while maintaining high standards.
- Specialists in the Credit Bust Out team gain experience that can support career development at American Express.
Minimum Qualifications
- Computer literate with the ability to navigate multiple computer systems and applications quickly and accurately.
- Natural communicator with active listening skills and the ability to adapt conversations to the Card Memberβs style.
- Resilience and confidence to manage a steady stream of diverse customer calls and make judgements while meeting performance metrics.
- Problem-solving skills to evaluate Card Member issues and offer effective solutions, ideally resolving on the first contact.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail and assertiveness.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to feedback, and stay agile through change and challenging situations.
- Flexibility and ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a supportive environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer service experience, ideally in a contact centre environment.
