International Card Services (ICS) Risk & Control Operations (IR&CO) is responsible for supporting our international issuing and acquiring businesses across 27+ countries and ensuring they have a robust first line of defence. IR&CO plays an active role in enabling the businesses to meet their growth objectives whilst demonstrating an effective control framework. Our organization helps our international businesses manage non-financial risk, respond to new regulation, and develop new products whilst creating and furthering effective partnerships across multiple key stakeholders across the organization.

We are looking for a UK based Risk analyst to join our ICS R&CO Business Conduct team to support the roll out and ongoing governance of our Business Conduct Program. The IR&CO Business Conduct Program provides clear standards and governance for all ICS customer facing interactions to ensure that ICS operates with the highest conduct standards, as individuals and as a team.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • The role will report to the Business Conduct Program managers based in the UK and will have a remit for supporting the development and execution of the International Business Conduct related programs including monitoring, training, consequence management, program governance & third-party oversight frameworks.
  • This will involve providing analysis, control management and documentation support for the development and delivery of principles and processes to ensure ICS management effectively respond to the identification of non-compliant behaviours within its customer facing colleague (CFC) and third-party populations.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the strategic lead managers to develop and maintain the ICS business conduct framework and oversee execution of necessary changes with critical stakeholders.
  • Support the translation of Enterprise policy standards related to Customer Facing Interaction (CFI) as they apply to our core workstreams (monitoring, third party management, Consequence Management & overall program governance) to ensure obligations for the ICS business are met.
  • Support the development of the workstream strategies in collaboration with business leaders and key stakeholders (compliance, Colleague Labor Relations, Employment General Counsel Operations, Financial performance and insights and sales & business enablement groups), setting standards for the identification and management of colleagues demonstrating non-compliant behaviours.
  • Ensuring robust and fully approved operating procedures are documented, inclusive of process risk controls and escalation protocols, to ensure a consistent approach to the internal management of compliance risks and to ensure effective customer treatment protocols are in place.
  • Partner with counterparts in other business units, compliance, and other risk experts to identify trends, leverage best practices and opportunities to uplift, streamline and enhance ongoing ICS governance controls for all international markets.
  • Create process documentation and support the creation of training materials for Business Conduct risk awareness activities ensuring colleagues and business leaders understand their obligations regarding the delivery of compliant customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with ICS Business Conduct IR&CO strategic leads to ensure dependencies for our key workstreams are understood and are appropriately prioritised to support the rollout of the International Business Conduct framework.
  • Ensure local market legal and regulatory obligations are understood and, where appropriate documented as exceptions ensuring reasonable adjustments are made to the framework.
  • Support strategic leads in providing process & control input to second line (compliance), third line (internal Audit Group) and external regulator review processes as required.
  • Conduct data analysis of the outcomes of local monitoring processes and develop insights to support local decision makers in determining training needs and resolving disputed cases driving consistency across international.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An experienced risk analyst, Aptitude to operate within a policy and process driven environment.
  • Comfortable navigating a complex, fast paced environment, often with strict deadlines, high degrees of ambiguity and Compliance / regulatory commitments.
  • Collaboration - Strong collaboration skills and ability to positively work through disputes.
  • Strong analytical & Process Improvement skills Ability to work with large volume of data in an organized and systematic approach using outputs to determine trends and insights to drive process improvement and training requirements.
  • Excellent Relationship management skills - Rapidly build trust & credibility with strategic stakeholders including but not limited to; Regional IR&CO Business Conduct workstream and execution leads, Market Control Management experts, Sales and Account Development teams, Colleague Labour Relations (CLR), General Counsel employment teams, International Field Enablement (IFE), Regional and Local Compliance officers, Privacy and strategic counterparts in other business units.
  • Communication – Delivery of impactful communications (clear, concise & meaningful - both written and oral) for multiple audiences.
  • Decisive Self-starter with high degree of autonomy and accountability, demonstrating an intense will-to-win.
  • Degree of flexibility with time given the international remit of the role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Operational Excellence, Compliance, Internal Audit, Operational Risk, or a related discipline is preferable.
