In this role, as a junior contributor, you’ll work with our growing software engineering team on our business travel booking platforms, including advancing our REST APIs, developing new features, and more. Minimum 3 days per week in Manchester office.
What You'll Do
- Monitor and Support Existing Processes – Oversee current platform operations and processes, proactively identifying bottlenecks and opportunities to build resilience, improve performance, and strengthen system robustness against potential failures.
- Supplier Management – Manage Back-office support contract/Engineers, host regular review meetings.
- Capture Requirements and Build Solutions – Collaborate /Lead discussions with business partners to understand their needs, translate requirements into actionable solutions, and develop features that drive business value and enhance user experience.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Production Issues – Lead discussions with business stakeholders to quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and maintaining system reliability and up time.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in C# development with a strong foundation in modern frameworks.
- Expertise in C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core Web API.
- SQL development experience.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
- Experience using JIRA and following Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
- Advanced MS Excel.
- Ability to lead discussions that are goal-oriented, organized, and collaborative.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving approach.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive mindset with focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Interest in pursuing and developing AI-related opportunities and solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Passion for software craftsmanship, culture of excellence, clean code, and TDD.
- RPG development background.
- Familiarity with financial processes and terminology.
